Aleks wanted to bring a smile to all of the patients on the unit and she made goody bags for each patient. The goodies bags contained hot cocoa packets and treats along with beautiful holiday wish cards.
I am a Polish citizen and my English proficiency is low. Ever since I arrived here Ms. Aleksandra has been very welcoming and helpful, offering her translation skills whenever the doctor needed to speak with me. When I was feeling pain, Ms. Alex would assist me with getting out of bed and safely escorting me to the restroom. She is very knowledgeable about my ailments as well as each medication prescribed to me. Whenever I would receive my medication or treatment she would explain the type of medication, its use, and what exactly is happening with my health during each stage of the treatment. I had difficulty getting the IV drip connected in the ER however Ms. Aleksandra was very professional and connected the IV. Ms. Aleksandra is very present, she diligently checks up on me throughout the day, asking if I need anything or assistance using the restroom. I feel welcomed and well taken care of during her shift.

Due to my pulmonary condition, I was mostly confined to my bed, however, today Ms. Alex offered to help me walk around a bit to start regaining my strength. That was very thoughtful of her. This testimony is written by my daughter who has been my main point of contact translating everything for me. Ms. Aleksandra was also very helpful in relaying everything to her, explaining to her exactly what I am going through. She was very knowledgeable with the diagnosis explaining lab results and ongoing treatments. My daughter believes I’m being well taken care of in her care. It is truly a miracle to find such wonderful carding and empathetic people in the world.

This week my husband and I met an angel called Aleks, and she is one of the kindest, sweetest, most caring nurses. Aleks went about her day doing for all her patients, always with a smile and words of encouragement. Not everyone is nice to disabled men who need help. She was there for him. Thank you, Aleks.

Aleks is a wonderful, special caring nurse. My roommate was confused and yelled all night and Aleks was sure to have me moved so I could get some rest. She listened to my concerns and acted on them quickly and always with a smile. I went for a stress test and x-ray and was out of my room for most of the day. Transport was backed up and it was Aleks to the rescue. She knew I was down there most of the day and brought me back to my room as she knew my wife was there waiting for me. All the nurses have been wonderful, but Aleks is a shining star and very deserving of this recognition. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts.

Aleks is an amazing nurse who makes a difference in our patients' lives. We all know holidays this year were totally different from the prior years. Imagine being a patient. Or the family members whose mom, dad, or siblings were in a hospital alone for the holidays? We all can picture them going through difficult times as they worry about their loved ones. There comes Aleks, always thinking of ideas to make our patients feel special. She always goes above and beyond to assure her patients' birthdays, and holidays are celebrated. Aleks wanted to bring a smile to all of the patients on the unit and she made goody bags for each patient. The goodies bags contained hot cocoa packets and treats along with beautiful holiday wish cards. As I was doing my daily patient rounding, numerous patients were extremely thankful. One patient said to me “That was the most thoughtful thing anyone could have done for me: The goodie bags brought joy and happiness to our patients. It reminded them that the holiday season is all about being kind, caring, and compassionate and that is exactly what Aleks is.
