Ali is committed to her patients, their families, and her hospice team. Every day Ali will let the office know if she can take a visit or help out a team member. Ali is a resource to other hospice nurses with her knowledge of wound care, taking time out of her own day to help. Ali organizes team get-togethers for comradery and de-stressing.
Ali has many patients in facilities. In a time where the COVID crisis blocks family members from seeing patients, Ali is sure to see her patients, give them support, and then contact the family with an update, helping to ease their concerns. Ali actively sees COVID positive patients bringing a bright spot to their day.
Ali is also concerned and supportive of the nursing facility staff, taking the time to speak with them and support them as they suffer through this crisis. At a time when nursing gallantry has been showcased, Ali has put it all out there: teamwork, patient care, emotional support.
Ali is a hero among heroes.
