January 2025 Honoree
Alesandra Childs, BSN, RN
I am an 85-and-a-half-year-old male and have an enlarged prostate. I checked in at the hospital around 2 pm. Shortly after checking in, nurse Alex was trying to drain clots and reduce pains around my bladder, but she was unsuccessful at first; then, she changed to manually and irrigated my bladder continuously. I felt a lot better and relaxed after a long period of time. She worked on me and also explained to us what she was doing. I completely trusted her and felt comfortable with her. After a few hours, my urine became free of clots, and I was able to be discharged with her instructions and diagram of how to continue the bladder irrigation at home. I am so grateful for the care they provided during my hospital stay. Therefore, I am very honored to nominate the best care takers who provided me with the utmost care and love.
Thank you, Alesandra, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
