May 2011 Honoree
aleta mccleskey, RN, CEN
Aleta has been working in our unit since graduating nursing school. Over the past 5 years, Aleta has grown into a wonderful nurse. Every day she is professional. She has respect and compassion for her patients. For example, we had 3 hikers in the ED – one that was injured. After discharge the hikers had no transportation. They were walking the [Appalachian Trail] and had no vehicle. They had a reservation at a motel in Fontana approximately 30 miles away. Aleta called several people at 3:00 a.m. finally arranging transportation. She is continuing her education at the present, working on her BSN. Aleta currently works 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and an occasional night [shift]. She is flexible with her schedule and is always willing to jump in and help with difficult patients.
Thank you, Aleta, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
