August 2026 Honoree
Alex C, Wakefield
Cox Medical Center Branson has a long tradition of honoring veterans, including providing handmade blankets to hospitalized veterans. When Alex noticed that this meaningful practice had diminished, she was determined to bring it back.
Drawing on her passion for crafting, crocheting, and quilting, Alex launched a project to create handmade blankets for veteran patients and enlisted others to contribute as they were able. As the granddaughter of two military veterans, she considers this work a privilege and a meaningful way to give back.
One particularly memorable moment occurred when Alex presented a handmade quilt to a veteran who had received one during a previous hospital stay years earlier. He was deeply touched that someone had once again taken the time to create a quilt especially for him, reinforcing the lasting impact of such thoughtful gestures.
Alex, your dedication to honoring veterans has made a meaningful difference. Your compassion and commitment provide comfort, dignity, and support to patients during their healing journey, and your efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Thank you for exemplifying the Cox mission, vision, and values through your service to others and your commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of our patients and families.
Thank you, Alex, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
