My husband had surgery and had to be intubated and deeply sedated so he could rest over the weekend. I had a procedure the week before so I was in the hospital as well during all of this, and Alex kept me up to date on what was happening while encouraging me not to worry. When I was finally able to see my husband, I was told he might need a trach and I was so worried. Alex said to remove the word 'worry' from my vocabulary - he was so confident and that gave me faith again. Of course, he was right! All patients and family deserve a nurse like Alex when their loved one is in the ICU.
