Alex Fischer-Oelschlaeger 2, RN

My parent was literally on death’s door when we met Alex Fischer-Oelschlaeger the morning after we arrived. He was a ball of fire, getting my parent refreshed, and although they were out of it, we saw how much he cared. Alex went above and beyond and had so much faith in my parent. My parent came into the ICU barely hanging on, and I am a true believer that if Alex didn’t have the caring personality he has and the natural caregiving attitude he does, my parent would not have made it as far as they’ve come!

My spouse’s parent was placed on comfort measures while awaiting organ donation procedures, and on their last day, Alex was his nurse. All of the nurses were great; however, I wanted to say thank you to Alex for the amazing care he gave not only to my spouse’s parent but also for the care and compassion he showed to our family and us. He made sure that our loved one was comfortable during their last few hours and made sure that our family was taken care of. He checked on us frequently and went out of his way to bring us anything to make this as comfortable a transition as possible. Anytime he provided care to my spouse’s parent, he would explain what he was doing and how long it would take. Alex made an extremely difficult time for our family a little better, and we can’t thank him enough for it.
