Even though my daughter is 15, she needed a little extra hand-holding, and Alex provided that without a second thought.
My 15-year-old daughter was in for her 1st post-op appointment after her knee surgery to get her stitches out. She had a bandage over the two incision sites, so she had not seen the incisions until the doctor had taken the bandage off at this appointment. She has never had to have stitches removed before, so this was a new experience for her. When she saw the incisions and the stitches, she got very pale and immediately had to look away. When Alex came into the room to take the stitches out for my daughter, I warned her that she might want my daughter to lay back for fear of her passing out.

Once Alex heard this, she immediately sprang into action and consoled my daughter (who had already been crying off and on at this point from fear of getting the stitches out.) Before she started, Alex went over each detailed step with my daughter to ensure she was comfortable with the process. She knew just what to say to console her. She also asked for permission before she started, which I thought was very thoughtful and heartfelt. Alex even purposely changed the conversation topic to help distract my daughter when she was taking the stitches out. Before we knew it, the stitches were out, sterile strips were on, and everything was done.

Alex made this a much more pleasant experience for my daughter and me. She took the time to explain everything and ensured that my daughter was ok with each step and understood the process. Even though my daughter is 15, she needed a little extra hand-holding, and Alex provided that without a second thought.
