Alex was my husband's nurse in the ICU. My husband was under an anti-seizure drug that, even at very low doses, caused him to be severely drowsy and not able to follow instructions during alertness evaluations. We voiced our concern to Alex, and he advocated for one day off the drug and closely monitored my husband during his duty dates.
