I was in the hospital to be tested for Lyme disease and again I was alone. I was cold and I was tired. Alex came in and told me things would be fine. She talked to me because I think she knew I was worried because I had Lyme disease before. She was kind and talked about my life, my dogs, and my living situation. She made me feel so much better. I told her I was cold and she said she would make me a cup of tea. Wow just what I needed. I thought that was above the call of duty because she had many other things to attend to.

Alex actively engaged my mom and spoke to her with kindness, empathy, and compassion. She efficiently got my mom comfortable and then performed a seamless straight catheter followed by a pain-free IV insertion all the while explaining to my mom what she was doing and what to expect. Alex has a truly calming demeanor and emits a feeling of positivity that is greatly appreciated by emotional family members, not to mention the patient. It is evident that Alex loves her job and has found her calling. She is the epitome of the excellent nurse everyone hopes to encounter in times of crisis. Thank you Alex for making a scary situation much less scary.
