Alex is such an amazing nurse. I have worked next to her for many years. She always provides compassionate care and her patients are so grateful for her. She takes difficult assignments daily and carries herself with such grace. She is always willing to help nursing students when they train on the floor and is so patient. She is sharp and has caught issues before they arise into bigger issues, and always keeps her patients safe. She is a nurse that we can always count on for teamwork and she continues to remain an asset to our team.

Lastly, she always sets such a great example and if I were a patient, I would want her as my nurse.

The kind of work we do takes a lot of patience and love which makes me think of Alex. Most of our patients are elderly and some are confused, and some can be combative, but Alex will take great care of them, even if they can't write an applause card for what she does. It's like doing something great even if no one is looking. That's Alex. I know a patient is in good hands if Alex is the nurse assigned to the patient. Aside from being focused, and dedicated to what she does, she also consistently displays kindness and a gentle caring attitude towards her patients. Her attentiveness makes her such a great example to others. I've seen how she works.

To Memorial Hospital, all your RNs are wonderful, but I would like to honor a very outstanding RN for the DAISY recognition, Alex Montes. She is so competent, quick, attentive always, has a warm, winning personality, and gives a patient a secure, cared for feeling. Alex has a beautiful personality! I was in your hospital for 8 days with very high blood pressure and pulse after having had a minor stroke. I am 89 years old.
