The day before my mother passed, I broke down crying and Alex wrapped a warm blanket around my shoulders to comfort me.
My mother was admitted to the SICU early morning in June; she was there for 5 days, and Alex was her nurse for at least 3 of those days. All of the nurses were kind, but Alex really stood out. She was very compassionate and caring with both my mother and my family. Even though she was unresponsive, Alex spoke to my mother, and took great care to be gentle. Alex always offered whatever comfort she could, be it a glass of water or a kind word. Alex told me my mother was a beautiful lady which meant so much to me. She shared a silly video of a tortoise with me to cheer me up. The day before my mother passed, I broke down crying and Alex wrapped a warm blanket around my shoulders to comfort me. I know that Alex did everything she could to make my mother comfortable during her last days. I can't tell you how much Alex's caring and compassion meant to me and my family. I will always remember her kindness.
