I was admitted to the Emergency Dept at Aurora Sheboygan County, Sheboygan, WI. I was having diarrhea and was dehydrated, eventually being diagnosed with C-Diff and admitted. Alex was the nurse on the day shift that took care of me that day. From the moment he walked into my room, I immediately felt at ease thanks to his compassionate care and empathy for my medical needs. I felt his nursing skills were superior, especially his placement of my IV.  I have veins that do not like to cooperate, but Alex got it on the first try. Several weeks later, my grandson was admitted to the same ER having an appendicitis attack. As I was texting my daughter about the situation, she was telling me about the wonderful nurse her son had in the ER.  We immediately figured out that this same wonderful nurse was Alex!  Alex was so kind to my grandson and immediately struck up a conversation about what he liked, which really made him feel special. My grandson was very scared, and Alex calmed all of his fears and explained everything to him to calm his fears. Sometimes people do not have a good experience with hospitals, and they are the first to complain. My daughter and I felt so strongly about the excellent care we received from Alex that we just had to nominate him for The DAISY Award. Alex is a credit to the nursing profession.
