My wife and I were blessed to have Alexa as part of our nursing staff for the birth of our first child. Her immediate positive attitude made an impression when, after introducing herself, she said to my wife, “We are having this baby tonight!” Her support continued when she could see my wife, who had chosen to do a completely natural birth as a first-time mom, starting to struggle from the pain of her contractions. I am so grateful for the time she took to tell my wife how great she was doing and that she truly had what it takes to have a natural delivery. I could tell that she meant every word that she said, and it wasn’t just some statement to make her feel better.

As the night and labor progressed, Alexa continued to encourage my wife and provide her with anything she needed, including a small fan when she saw me using one. Her high energy and enthusiasm continued during delivery. Her care and excitement were apparent as she helped coach my wife on how to push. The way that she talked with us and treated us during labor and delivery made us feel very comfortable and like we had another friend or family member there in the room with us. We were both thrilled to discover that she was also one of our night nurses when we transitioned to postpartum care!

My wife and I will always remember the amazing care that Alexa provided for us and our daughter. Her excitement and enthusiasm are contagious! I appreciated very much Alexa telling my wife how impressed she was and how amazing she delivered naturally. My wife was having a hard time with contractions, so Alexa’s pep talks and affirmations were greatly appreciated! We were blessed with an amazing staff of nurses, doctors, and techs, all of whom deserve to be recognized! However, Alexa stood out and will hold a special place in our hearts and memories.
