I had the pleasure of meeting Alexa as my nurse overnight. I'm a very nervous person with severe anxiety, so meeting new nurses at shift changes is hard for me, and I've also had to flee my home, so I have PTSD and night terrors. Alexa was so very kind and caring with so much empathy and compassion; she took the time needed to make me feel safe and at ease. She was able to talk me through some rough subjects concerning my mental and physical abuse and explained to me where I could get help to deal with facing my abuse, and also where I could call a hotline if I'm in danger. She is an amazing nurse who truly nurses from her heart. She made my stay here safe and gave me options for safety and to be able to talk with someone. I call this unit the Dream Team that makes me feel seen as a person and not just a patient who has anxiety that cries a lot, and the personal touch from Alexa has made me still believe there are good people in this world.
