Alexa finds ways to connect with all of the patients to make them feel comfortable, at home, and welcomed, getting to know each patient as an individual rather than just a patient.
Lexi goes above and beyond with all her patients. One time she bought an entire pizza for a patient who was really hungry and didn't like the dinner. Lexi will also be willing to go to the vending machines to buy our patients snacks. Lexi does all that she can to make her patients feel more comfortable and happy during their hospital stay.

Lexi is always going above and beyond for her patients. On her day off she brought in her personal guitar for a patient who was waiting for his open-heart surgery. She knew how important it was for a musician to practice their art, and how it can help calm nerves. Therefore, she took it upon herself to help give this patient the comfort of music.

Alexa is a model nurse who goes above and beyond each and EVERY day with EVERY patient. Alexa finds ways to connect with all of the patients to make them feel comfortable, at home, and welcomed, getting to know each patient as an individual rather than just a patient. She stays until she knows everything has been completed to the highest level of care possible. Alexa is a role model and great resource for every single nurse, and we are beyond lucky to have her as a bright star on our unit!

Lexi continually goes beyond the call of nursing. She is the most compassionate and caring nurse I have met in my 14-year career. Lexi has stayed late to talk with and comfort patients going through difficult times. She not only cares for her patients but her coworkers. She takes time to make certain the next nurse has everything they need and understands the patients' physical and emotional needs. Lexi should be recognized with this award for her dedication and commitment to ICARE values.

Lexi is one of the most genuinely caring human beings there is. She goes above and beyond for her patients whether it's bringing or buying food because they don't like the hospital food or even willing to bring clothes because they may not have anything to wear for discharge. Everything she does for her patients is done in a compassionate manner even if it takes her an hour. Our unit is so lucky to have such an amazing, reliable, and humble nurse. She once drew a picture of herself and a patient that we had with down syndrome so that he would be able to see her once he was gone. It reminded him that he was not only our patient but our friend. Lexi has always had the ability to see past the anger, frustration, and sadness in all of our patients. Even on her worst days, she has more compassion and kindness within her than we nurses can only hope for. She is a special find and we are blessed to have her.

Lexi goes above and beyond what it means to be a nurse. She has come in on her days off to bring patients food they've been craving from outside the hospital, and recently even brought one of our long-term patients her guitar from home because he was sad he was unable to play his own for the past 3 weeks. She stayed on her day off to listen to him play and keep him company. She truly cares for everyone around her and is so incredibly deserving of the DAISY award!

Alexa is an outstanding nurse. She goes the extra mile for the patients on the unit (whether they are assigned to her or not) as well as her team members. She is the epitome of what excellent nursing is! I have never met another nurse that cares as deeply as Lexi does for her patients. I have seen her sit by anxious patients until they fall asleep so they are not alone. She was one of the first of us to volunteer for the HIDU even though she then needed to isolate herself from her family. What sets Lexi apart though is her constant and unwavering aura of positivity. Even on difficult shifts, she is in high spirits and offers to help others. Her selflessness and caring heart truly set her apart. Lexi is an excellent nurse who is always working to get to know her patients on a deeper level in order to provide a standard of patient care that goes above and beyond.
One patient on our unit was a musician and was having a hard time being without his guitar during his stay. The next day Lexi brought a guitar in from home and gave it to the patient to use while he was in the hospital. There are so many more examples just like this one. 4-1600 is so lucky to have Lexi on our team.

Alexa frequently goes above and beyond to make her patients feel at ease while away from home. She commonly takes extra time to talk with patients and bring them things they enjoy doing. A few weeks ago she brought in a guitar for a patient who is a musician to enjoy while waiting for surgery. We love seeing the positive effect Alexa has on our unit by increasing patient satisfaction! Lexi is one of the most genuine, caring, thoughtful nurses I have ever worked with during my 7 years at SMH. No matter the day she gives her patients 100% of her time and effort and strives to make them feel comfortable and taken care of. She is an amazing asset to our floor, and we are blessed to have her as a part of our 416 team!

Lexi is the epitome of Strong Memorial Hospital's Nursing Professional Practice Model. Lexi represents Integrity, Inclusion, Compassion, Respect - for her patients and co-workers alike and excellence. Lexi strives to provide quality service/ outcomes to her patients as well as advocate for them. She never leaves a stone unturned for her patients and makes them feel like they are the only ones she is taking care of.
Lexi daily goes far above and beyond her job description to ensure that her patients are getting the best care from all ends of the spectrum. Whether it's sitting in a room with a confused patient just providing company or unexpectedly bringing a patient their favorite snack. Lexi will stop at nothing to ensure that her patients know that they are loved and deeply cared for by Lexi.

I was floating on 4-1600 when I met Lexi. We had a very young patient who had a series of unexpected complications that kept him in the hospital for about a month. When he told Lexi about his passion for music and how he missed playing music, she brought her own personal guitar to him. She allowed him the chance to play again, and he was so grateful for her kindness.
Lexi demonstrates compassion in all her interactions and provides her patients with the best care. Her bedside manner is admirable and is mostly known for her great care always going above and beyond for her patients. She often stays later than needed to make sure everyone is settled before she heads home in the morning. She is always willing to lend a helping hand no matter what the task. She is very upbeat and positive, happy to be here!
