Alex is relatively new to hospice, but he approaches his patients with love, compassion, and the knowledge to guide them through the difficult aspects of end of life care. One family, in particular, wrote a beautiful letter describing how Alex took the time to sit with him and dispel the negative connotations that go along with the word hospice. Alex told this anxious son, who was grieving the impending loss of his active and vibrant 75-year-old father, exactly what to expect when his father passed. Alex was described as an "angel on Earth" and as "doing God's work", and this just goes to show that he delivers competent and compassionate care to not only this patient but all of his patients. He makes sure they can retain a quality of life and that their family develops the ability to cope with the loss of their loved one.
