My father's nurse, Alex, came in on his day off today. Alex is patient and very informative to all parties in the room. Most important, he tells my Dad, the patient, why he is there and what he plans to do to care for Dad, then asks for permission to continue with the required care. This not only shows respect to the patient but also relieves any resistance from the patient. My Dad has been in many hospitals at 93-years-old and never in the ICU. He chose Sky Ridge and we all think that his lifeline was stronger because of the quality of care that Alex provided.
