He constantly advocates for fair staffing, appropriate patients on our floor and for our voices to be heard and respected.
Alex is easily one of the most trusted nurses on our unit. Supporting everyone equally and loudly, he is our biggest cheerleader. He really is a part of our team, even though he is leadership, he is always a trusting, compassionate, respectful nurse, willing to help any associate/patient out. He constantly goes above and beyond for the team and patients to make sure they are 100% satisfied. Alex always encourages staff to take on more challenging roles and further their education. He tries his best to make sure patient assignments are fair and staffing needs are met. He keeps the environment light and filled with laughter. Alex’s "dad jokes" are now an iconic part of our twice-daily huddles and he is constantly thinking of ways to uplift our team. He truly promotes a very positive work environment that we all are pleased to be a part of. He constantly asks our team for their input and offers support when needed. Associates feel comfortable expressing their concerns and know that Alex will always do his best to ensure any issues are dealt with in a professional and ethical manner. He is constantly available in person, via phone or email; always accessible and responsive to any and everyone on the unit. He often stays late in order to help others, to answer questions and call lights, and to simply be present for our team. Alex is everywhere and anywhere you need him to be, and will even check in on you on his day off. He constantly advocates for fair staffing, appropriate patients on our floor and for our voices to be heard and respected. He asks for our clear input, thoughts, and ideas and makes sure to relay those to appropriate parties. Alex is incredibly compassionate and passionate, always finding ways to uplift and support us, and to lend a helping hand, offering words of encouragement, etc. Our patients absolutely adore Alex and his bedside manner. He is extremely compassionate with all of our patients. He is an exemplary nurse and friend, leading by example. Our unit is so appreciative of Alex and all of the work he does on a daily basis for us and for our patients. Alex attends and helps run huddles, bringing communication, suggestions and opportunities to the conversation to promote smooth communication among leadership and associates. He is always the last to leave, making sure both day team and night team have the resources they need to complete their duties. He bridges the gap between leadership and associates to ensure the needs of the patients and staff are always met. Alex has a collaborative and adaptive leadership style and is one that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving. He ensures that voices are heard. He is very supportive of staff that are continuing their education. He is a true leader. I am so proud to be a part of Alex’s team and truly appreciative of all that is done for us! I couldn't imagine anyone more deserving of this award.
