Her level of patience with a feisty toddler was remarkable. I would say that it was only second to her level of compassion.
My daughter, N, was hospitalized. Her oxygen had dropped very low and she had been transported from urgent care to the hospital by Ambulance.
Alexandra "Alex" was our nurse for the majority of our stay. She took a scary and sad situation and turned it into something manageable. I can't count how many times Alex came in to adjust N's various oxygen-delivering devices. Her level of patience with a feisty toddler was remarkable. I would say that it was only second to her level of compassion. Not once did she seem frustrated, annoyed, or stressed. Alex took N's concerns seriously and treated her (and all of us) with respect. In addition to being incredibly kind, Alex also was extremely efficient and provided excellent care. As N told me, "We are so lucky we have Alex."
As a parent, there is a feeling of futility when your child is so sick. Having a nurse like Alex, who provides phenomenal care coupled with compassion, makes it easier to see the light on the horizon.
Alex - You are a gem!!!
