My brother has told me several times that Alexandra is one of the best nurses he has had at Elkhart General Hospital. He has been there for an extended period, and one of his complaints is that he is always tired because of all the interruptions at night. I stayed with him one evening because he was having some serious problems and I wanted to be with him. I saw several times how Alexandra came in to check on things and made an extreme effort not to wake my brother. She did not turn on any lights at these times and did her best to avoid making noise. No one had asked her to make any extra effort to keep from waking my brother, and it appeared that she had just done this out of concern for my brother, knowing that he was very tired. While everyone I have met at Elkhart General Hospital has been extremely competent, accommodating, and always friendly while caring for my brother, I thought Alexandra should be recognized as an outstanding employee. In addition to meeting the criteria listed, this was an example of Alexandra being over and above what she had to do that evening.
