This nurse was floated recently. During report, she was told by the off-going nurse that one of the patients in her assignment was going to be discharged home that day. Overnight, they noticed that the baby was a little more hypertensive than usual, so the baby was not to go home. this nurse advocated for a discharge hold. This nurse’s extraordinary assessment skills coupled with steadfast patient advocacy saved this baby’s life!
