What I appreciate most about Alex's bedside manner is that it never seemed forced, she never seemed to be going out of her way, it all just came naturally to her.
I could tell that Alex is committed to excellence the moment I met her and saw her interact with our daughter, A. I also saw A's reaction when she first met Alex, immediate connection, and joy. Throughout the time that we spent on that floor, Alex was A's nurse quite a few times and every time A saw her she would light up like she was seeing an old friend.

A specific story about A's time spent with Alex was about halfway through her recovery. Alex and another nurse didn't just bathe A, they treated her to a spa treatment, complete with lotion, massage, and a twisted-up towel on her head. I could tell that A was so happy to be spending "girl time" with her nurses and for the first time since her surgery, she looked like a happy baby just hanging out with her friends.

Alex not only treated A with the utmost respect, but she also extended that same respect to me. She prioritized helping me feel comfortable and informed and showed me that my comfort as a parent was as important as A's comfort as a patient. What I appreciate most about Alex's bedside manner is that it never seemed forced, she never seemed to be going out of her way, it all just came naturally to her. I could tell that she is experienced, thoughtful, and joyful in her job and A showed that she appreciated it and benefitted from it.
