I am honored to recognize Alexandria (Alex) Gonyer, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Community Living Center (CLC).
Alex has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in her role, deserving recognition for her outstanding contributions to patient care.
Recently, the Ascellon survey team recognized Alex for her exemplary practices in medication administration. The surveyor specifically commended her impeccable technique with administering medications via IV and G-Tube, noting that Alex was "on point with everything."
Throughout the survey, Alex flawlessly completed multiple tasks while being observed, showcasing her capability and composure under pressure. During this time, she was responsible for a complex resident who had a tracheostomy, PICC line, G-tube, and Foley catheter.
The Community Living Center (CLC) concluded the 2026 Ascellon survey with no clinical findings related to Nursing services, reflecting the collective efforts of the entire team, including Alex's significant contributions.
In another instance, Alex recently received a Good Catch award for her vigilant attention to detail. She identified a medication in the Omni-Cell that had been incorrectly packaged. The medication, ordered as a 0.5 mg tablet, was mistakenly packed as a 1 mg tablet.
Thanks to Alex's keen observation, she prevented a potential medication error that could have resulted in the Veteran receiving a double dose. She took all appropriate steps to address and rectify the issue, thereby enhancing medication safety protocols.
Alex is immensely respected by her coworkers for her extensive knowledge and willingness to help with any needed task. She consistently brings a positive attitude to work, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
Additionally, a provider at the CLC praised Alex as one of the most thorough nurses they have worked with, noting that her assessments and reports are always accurate and reliable.
