Blurb from nomination, Alexandria “Andie” means “defender of people”. When I looked this up and saw what her name means I could definitely see this characteristic in how she cared for me. When it was her shift with me, she jumped right in and started “defending” me by making sure my medications were in order and calling to get my CT scan scheduled. No matter how much I struggled, she was always telling me, “you’re doing a good job” and “you can do it!” Even when I was vomiting, she was encouraging me that I was going to be ok. I called her my own “personal cheerleader!” Especially when we don’t feel well, we need someone like Andie to cheer us on!
