My elderly grandfather was hospitalized for almost 3 weeks. While at Nor Lea, he received the utmost care. All of the staff were amazing, but one nurse was a shining star. She was gentle and kind with my grandpa, who was facing some critical issues. She was a bright light in a dark period. Not only did she tend to my grandpa with the utmost care, but she also treated our family the exact same way. My grandpa, who I would label a “difficult patient,” formed a close bond with her during those few short but long weeks. When she was not on shift, he would count the days until her return. She was his nurse at discharge, and she made the process so smooth. She answered a long list of questions I had with patience, confidence, and reassurance that she was only a call away if anything was needed. Sure enough, on the afternoon of discharge, questions arose about his medication, and I quickly called her at the Hospital. It was a great feeling knowing she was just a call away and we could count on her. On my grandpa's last day at Nor Lea, he shed tears when saying his goodbyes and thank you to her. And if I am being honest, I cried too. Nor Lea is lucky to have this nurse, and we are lucky to have had our paths crossed.
