Alexia had vast knowledge on many things that were affecting my daughter.
We kept wondering why my daughter's oxygen levels were going down and coming right back up while she was sleeping. Alexia took the time to watch it happen and see if her tongue could be obstructing her air flow. She delivered oxygen support using a nasal cannula which helps children with sleep apnea. It worked well and stabilized her oxygen levels while she slept. Alexia had vast knowledge on many things that were affecting my daughter and collaborated with a respiratory therapist to watch her while she slept. Also, she put in an order with the pulmonary team to evaluate her for a sleep study test which they conducted the following evening. She is one of the most knowledgeable and caring nurses I've ever met. My daughter has been in and out of the hospital for 10 years so I've seen a lot! Please let Alexia know my family is very thankful for her noticing something else going on with my daughter that was unrelated to why she was hospitalized. Now my daughter can hopefully get better sleep and have fewer seizures.
