I would like to say thanks to Nurse Alexis Brandau, for showing so much Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence and most of all compassion. I came to SA here in Tomah not knowing what to expect. I have been in treatment before so, I sort of knew what treatment was all about, but when I met Alexis Brandau, she showed such great qualities and I felt respected. Man, that was such a great feeling, because where I had just left I didn't even respect myself, I mean she made me feel so comfortable being in a strange place. I had trust in her, and I have a problem with trusting people period. It was unbelievable to me.
It usually takes me a while to even talk to a person I don't know but everything I asked of her she helped me. If she didn't know she asked one of her coworkers and it's not only me. She is like this with all of the Vets who come across her. What a wonderful human being. She really takes pride in her work and I think it is bigger than her job. I feel she honestly cares about people no matter what walk of life they come from. I would like to say thank God for her.
