June 2023 Honoree
Alexis DeGrandis, BSN, RN
To say that Alexis was great would be the understatement of the century. As a medically retired Navy Corpsman who served with Infantry Marines and was in charge of their care, both in garrison and in combat, I too took a Hippocratic Oath to provide the best care I could for all my Marines. Alexis is no different. She was not only the epitome of professionalism, she had an amazing capacity for compassion and care. She went above and beyond, advocating for my specialized care. Alexis made sure that the staff would help to make my (2nd in so many days) stay as comfortable as possible, all while continuing to provide excellent care that would help me recover more quickly and efficiently. She would listen intently to my concerns, and because she knew I didn’t want to bother anyone, she kept a vigilant eye on me to ensure I got what needed. She provided superior care and made me feel safe. I never say this, but I would go to war with someone like her. She has my trust, and I am adamant that someone as special as her should be recognized for her service and professionalism toward all her patients. I will never forget what she did for me, and that her impact on my life was substantial. Thank you Alexis for everything you do, and for the person you are!
Thank you, Alexis, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
