Alexis J Lenaburg, LPN

Alexis Lenaberg was assigned to go on a DEMPS COVID mission for a few weeks. While she was in the airport preparing to go to the destination, she came upon a young woman in the airport bathroom who appeared to be in distress and acting erratically. Ms. Lenaberg approached the woman, keeping her calm and remaining with her until medical help arrived to assess the situation. This young woman was cared for by Ms. Lenaberg who made sure that the woman was safe and supported in her time of need. Remaining with the distressed woman caused Alexis to miss her flight to the DEMPS mission. She had to schedule another flight to make it to the VA DEMPS COVID mission ready to work there. Alexis is to be commended for caring for this young woman. As Alexis says, she did it as a Nurse and as a Mother. Alexis actively demonstrated compassionate skilled Nursing care at a time when this woman needed someone to intervene and advocate for her at this vulnerable time.
