Alexis was simply wonderful. Our mom was in the hospital unexpectedly and had to have a laparotomy. Her care was complicated by the fact that she has dementia. That, and a negative reaction to pain medication, left mom confused. Alexis consistently showed understanding and compassion. In addition to just providing excellent care, she recognized that having another patient in the room, with different people coming and going, was adding to mom’s confusion. Alexis then arranged for mom to have a private room. This made a huge difference!

Once mom was alone in her room, her confusion subsided, and she was much more relaxed. Alexis also went out of her way to make the family comfortable. My sister and I flew in from Nebraska to be with mom, so we were both spending as much time as possible at the hospital with her. Unfortunately, there was only one chair in the room. Alexis noticed this and went and found a couch that wasn’t being used and personally hauled it into mom’s room to make sure we were comfortable! Wow! That’s really going above and beyond! It gave us such relief to know we wouldn’t have to worry when we weren’t there. I can’t say enough about how much we appreciated Alexis’s thoughtfulness.
