Alfredo truly embodies the qualities of a DAISY Nurse and provides extraordinarily compassionate and highly skilled care to every patient and their families. One of the most recent stories I can share to display his commitment and compassion centers around a patient admitted for chemotherapy treatment. The patient really wanted coffee but was not able to go to the coffee shop. The patient's wife had a phobia of elevators and would take 15 flights of stairs each time to leave and return to the unit. Alfredo learned of this and found out the patient’s wife was going to get coffee for him and would need to take the 15 flights of stairs to return. Alfredo got the coffee for the patient, and this family was overcome with gratitude for this act of kindness. This outstanding service is just one of the many acts of kindness that Alfredo displays each and every time.
