Ali Delgado was caring for a patient when she recognized that with the new school semester starting, the patient was in distress over not understanding his virtual schedule and his assignments, particularly his math homework. While Ali made the appropriate referrals to the school program, she took it upon herself to spend her entire shift working on the patient's math homework with him. Ali did research herself to see how to age-appropriately teach him fractions. Ali’s dedication to the whole patient and not just his medical needs truly made a difference in reducing stress and helping the patient through what was a stressful situation.
