I am nominating Alice Pessima for The DAISY Award for her years of hard work, exemplary teamwork, and being a true leader in the clinic. As we all experienced difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Pessima has been considerate of the needs of the village by assisting other clinics with RN coverage while maintaining consistency with her role as charge nurse and clinical coordinator at her home clinic. This teammate continuously puts the needs of patients first by attending to their specialized needs, de-escalating crisis situations, and encouraging treatment adherence for the best clinical outcomes. As the clinic has endured many changes, Alice Pessima has been consistent with her work ethic and strives to maintain high morale within the facility. As an FA I have been able to depend on her to manage the floor with strong leadership skills while simultaneously being able to receive suggestions and guidance when needed. Alice Pessima demonstrates the core values of DaVita and is an asset to the team, the patients, and the community.
