Alice made sure that I had supplies for the wound care dressing changes.
I had emergency colostomy surgery and 10 days after my release from the hospital I had to move out due to an unlivable roommate situation. I was distraught. I still had a wound vac and very little strength to walk let alone find and move to a new place. I stayed in hotels and Airbnb for weeks trying my best to recover and concentrate on finding a new place to live. I kind of lost it mentally. The only thing at this time that was stable was my home health care visits.

Alice and her team followed me as I landed in whatever hotel or space I was at. Alice made sure that I had supplies for the wound care dressing changes. Her instructions were clear and considerate of my situation. I felt taken care of. Alice’s care at this time was everything to me…soul food I guess. She held space for me when I cried (which was every visit really) and then laughed with me when I was happy. There were a lot of tears in the weeks after my surgery and I know none of it would have been bearable without Alice.
