From Patient #1

I was admitted for abdominal pain. They ran test after test and everything came back negative. The tests showed negative but my body showed the truth. Alice knew that for someone to be enduring the pain I endured the tests had to be wrong. She kept calling the doctors until she finally got one to see me. When she got a doctor to listen to her and come to physically see me they ordered the correct meds and treatment I needed to get better. She stayed with me and spent every moment she could with me to assure me the suffering I had would end. She helped push and hold my stomach in so I could cough. I feel when you have a nurse of this compassion you as SSM Health Center should pay 100% of her continued education for her to follow her dream of being a nurse practitioner where she wants to help the under privileged of St. Louis. I am also going to contact any and all pay it forward programs to help finance all of her schooling related costs. Exceptional patient care definition as I experienced with Alice - she made me feel like I was spending the night at my friend's house, not in a hospital. She provided comfort, compassion and patience.

Alice is a very outstanding person, her passion with her patients is just wonderful. She has a heart of pure gold and she loves her work. I've been with Alice for two weeks and her love showed while she was taking care of me. Words can't explain how good she is with her patients. All I can say is that SSM found someone that shines on the job and I thank her very much.
