I observed Alicia speaking to a patient at the change of shift. Alicia went out of her way to exchange personal phone numbers with the day shift nurse. Alicia informed the patient that if he did not have any visitors during the day, she would come in early before her shift the following night to take him outside and enjoy the healing gardens. The patient was brought to tears and reported that it made his day.
