She stated she was impressed with her interaction with the patients, the staff, her drive to learn, her willingness to learn, and how unbelievably smart she is.
Alicia is a recent graduate of the USU MSN-FNP program. Her background in nursing is in the community setting, and she has worked as a School Nurse for over seven years. She will continue her passion for working with underserved populations in the community setting in November as an FNP with the UCSD-JFS Asylum Seeker Clinic program, where she also completed her last clinical rotation. Outside of nursing, Alicia is the United States Women’s Water Polo Development National Team head coach and enjoys playing water polo, surfing, and camping with her husband.

She was nominated by several classmates and professors. One of the nominators writes:

Not only was Alicia an exceptional student in my class, but her preceptor had nothing but praise for her. She stated she was impressed with "her interaction with the patients, the staff, her drive to learn, her willingness to learn, and how unbelievably smart she is. She said that if Alicia didn’t know something, she made sure that she researched it and reported back. She has exceptional leadership skills, and I spoke with her about furthering her education by pursuing her DNP. She agreed with me when I said I feel that some people “were born to do this as their career,” and she stated Alicia is absolutely that person. She stated that she goes above and beyond in every way. She has a huge heart". This is someone, as a faculty member, that I would personally go to for my own care. She is by far exceptional.
