I came in late Thursday night and delivered my first baby on Friday. Alicia was one of the nurses who was working that night, and boy, am I glad. Between her and my other nurse, I had the best team of nurses to help navigate the labor and delivery process. Alicia was one of the most encouraging people in the room. She helped comfort and guide me in one of the most vulnerable times of my life. Every time I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore, Alicia was right there reminding me how great I was doing and shifting my mindset. She stayed with me all night and all morning until our baby girl made her arrival. It was comforting having someone like Alicia in the room with me to lean on and to talk me through the delivery process. She was truly a light for me through the whole process. Alicia was back Saturday night and came to check on my family and me. She was one of the only nurses who sat with me for well over an hour through the night, trying to help me navigate breastfeeding. She was so helpful, and I’ll never forget how she actually took the time to assist me. I will never forget how great Alicia was during the birth of our daughter and during our stay. She is truly an asset to the PAH Maternity team.
