She helped me see that nursing is so diverse and there are so many populations to work with and opportunities to support and care for patients.
Professor Law has had a profound impact on me during my time at Saint Anselm College as I navigate the nursing program and figure out what I want to do with my career. My junior year I was fortunate to have her as both my Maternity professor for class and also my clinical instructor at the Elliot. Going into the course, I found myself questioning why I chose to pursue nursing in the first place and whether or not I chose the right major. Up until that point, I hadn't been inspired by a specialty. Professor Law's attitude towards maternity and perspective of nursing completely changed that. She helped me see that nursing is so diverse and there are so many populations to work with and opportunities to support and care for patients. She was so positive while going into class and would explain concepts over and over if we needed it. She was always willing to meet with me one-on-one to go over questions, ATI prep, or any concepts that I did not understand. And I totally lucked out having her as a clinical instructor as well.

In the past, I had always found myself super anxious about going to clinical; however, Professor Law totally changed my perspective. She was easy to talk to about any concerns and cared about us as both students and people. She made an effort to get to know us and our strengths and weaknesses and help us become the best (student) nurses we can be. She gave us the freedom to learn and grow but also ensured we always felt supported, I genuinely enjoyed going to that clinical rotation (and not just because it was a specialty I enjoyed), but because I was comfortable enough to ask questions and was never worried about looking or feeling dumb. I am so happy I have Professor Law for nursing synthesis right now. She continues to offer her time to meet and go over content and be a positive leader. When I say this, I know that I am not just speaking for myself but for so many other students in our class. Professor Law has been so so amazing and deserves to be recognized for all she has done and continues to do for her students. She's the best!
