I instantly felt her warmth & kindness on day one of my chemo treatments. Having been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer after being relatively healthy all my life, I was nervous, scared & apprehensive of what was in store for me. Ali helped me feel comfortable, more relaxed & well cared for. She is consistently pleasant, upbeat & confident while working. I always feel like I’m getting the “royal treatment” from her, as she pays attention to the smallest details to tend to my needs. For my 63rd Birthday, she rounded up other nurses to help celebrate & make it as enjoyable as possible for me being at the infusion center getting chemo. That was so sweet & made me feel so special…Though my chemo treatments have been completed for a while, my doctor has me coming to get hydration twice a week, and Ali continues to treat me like a queen & even better, a friend. She has gone above & beyond her duties to listen to me vent, cry or tell a personal story. She is genuinely interested & makes me feel what I have to say is important. And sometimes we end up laughing, which is really good medicine! She is a true blessing to me & I appreciate her so much. She has made an overwhelmingly difficult time in my life more bearable, pleasant & even fun at times! I heard about the DAISY Award from a cancer patient friend of mine & immediately thought of my amazing nurse Ali who absolutely deserves this honor! She cheerfully does her job with the utmost integrity, human kindness, & compassion! She is EVERY CORE VALUE a nurse should be!!!
