It was a busy night in the ICU, Alicia was in charge, we were getting ready for 3 new admits and a patient's husband came to visit. He was very anxious, and a bit confused about what the doctors had told him earlier that day. Alicia is one of the most patient nurses I know; she took the time to explain what was actually going on including the equipment, medications. She was so kind, compassionate with all his needs, questions, and fears. She went above and beyond to make him and his wife comfortable. Alicia embraces the PRIDE values when interacting with both patients and their families including also coworkers and physicians. She handles difficult situations always in a professional manner.
