Alicia was a calming factor, and she seemed to reach him despite the sedation. She talked to him and understood him. She saw him!
My husband was in SICU for several weeks after a very serious ATV accident. He was a challenging patient with severe agitation and confusion. He self-extubated, was constantly pulling things out and trying to escape. Alicia’s primary focus was his health and safety, but she provided so much more than that! She was a calming factor, and she seemed to reach him despite the sedation. She talked to him and understood him. She saw him! Alicia was fantastic about answering my millions of questions, teaching me, coaching me, and above all was so very kind to me when I was overwhelmed and felt my world was crashing around me. She is a fantastic nurse and one of the kindest souls I have ever met.
