She held my hand, gave me different ways to help myself through the pain, said so many encouraging words, and was just such a sweet and helpful lady.
I went into the hospital around 1 am due to my water breaking and going into labor. Alison was not the first nurse there, but she came into my room a couple hours after we arrived. As soon as she came in the whole environment felt so much warmer, kinder, and more supportive. None of the other nurses there were bad, but Alison was absolutely amazing. She held my hand, gave me different ways to help myself through the pain, said so many encouraging words, and was just such a sweet and helpful lady. She knew how to position me to get my cervix to dilate the fastest and was just very knowledgeable about the whole thing. I think about her a lot. She let me lead on how I wanted to go through my labor and delivery, didn't push medication on me (I decided to go natural the whole time), explained everything for us in a way we understood, and seemed to genuinely want the best for me and what I was most comfortable with. She took pictures for us when our baby girl finally came out which was so sweet of her. After I had my baby, she left and I had other nurses throughout the day. I ended up losing too much blood during my delivery and had to stay 3 nights instead of just 1 as we had planned. On day 3 Alison came back and I was so excited to see her. She was so sweet and we talked a lot. She told me how cute my baby was, how well I did during my labor, and we just chatted about things. She truly made my experience at the hospital so much better than I imagined. I wish I had brought the nurses a gift basket because they really deserved it. Alison just has a supportive, warm, loving personality and that helped calm me a lot the whole time I was there. I can never thank her enough for the way she treated us during our stay.
