We recently had a family that was transitioning their child to comfort care. This family had endured incredible pain over the months of their child’s life. Ali built a relationship with them in the days before their child’s decline. She volunteered to pick up a shift to be with them on the day that they transitioned his care. She made sure that their child was comfortable as they transitioned and was there for the family during their time of grief. People like Ali are the reason I became a nurse. She cared for this family like they were her own. She went above and beyond for this family in their darkest moment. I will never forget the kindness that Ali showed this family.​
