I remember a time where Alison had a labor patient who had lots of swelling in her legs and feet and Alison was not afraid to call the Physician in the middle of the night and advocate for the patient's fluids to be decreased to help with the swelling. I have never heard a patient complain about her, in fact, patients often request to have her care for them on the next shift. I would trust Alison and would want her to be my labor nurse. She demonstrates respect, compassion, and integrity with every patient. Alison is very professional, even in the scenarios where a patient's beliefs and practices may differ from our own. Alison educates and teaches patients so they may be more successful and involved in their own care.
