March 2023 Honoree
Alison Nelson, RN
I had a valve replacement (TAVR) and a stent. I had great nurses in the hospital, some afterward. I was having lots of trouble with the blood pressure machine - something wasn’t working. It would take it three times sometimes and not give me a reading, even though it would seem to take the blood pressure. I talked to a nurse about it and they didn’t believe me. I told the nurse it wasn’t working in the office, but she didn’t check it to compare it. It was upsetting to me. No one explained the machine to me. I am a farmer, I don’t know what this is. When I got to Alison Nelson in physical therapy, she listened to me and we used my machine. So Alie got me a new blood pressure machine that worked correctly. We compared the new machine with her BP machine. They agreed! Alie stopped stress in my life. She is such a great nurse. She explains everything. Alie is such a good teacher. With physical therapy, I am doing really well there. I highly recommend Alie for recognition. Thank you Alie. Alie really cares and explains things so much better.
Thank you, Alison, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
