Alison O'Toole, BSN, RN

My husband was very fortunate to get Alison as a nurse that day. First, she came in and explained that she was a Bears fan from Chicago. We felt bad for her because the Packers just awkwardly beat them 2 days prior to our appointment! She put us at ease immediately. They were very friendly and knowledgeable- as we wouldn’t expect anything different. She asked her questions and explained everything along the way- fully! It truly put us at ease and gave us more confidence for the surgery that was coming! She’s a delight, and we feel as if we’ve known her for years! Most nurses we’ve had over the years were very polite and nice to be around, but Alison was/is a great exception. She also asked about his service, which actually made us proud to be at the VA. Even without this award, we are very fortunate for her immediate friendship and kindness, along with her knowledge. Great hire! 

P.S. “Thank you” doesn’t seem like enough recognition to Alison for how she made us feel. This award would help that.
