Alison quickly assesses the learning needs of her assigned students and looks for ways to challenge them during the simulation scenarios.
Alison Sarasin is an innovative instructor who is continuously looking for ways to improve the simulation experience for students. Alison quickly assesses the learning needs of her assigned students and looks for ways to challenge them during the simulation scenarios. She adds levels of complexity when needed to facilitate critical thinking or takes extra time in the pre-briefing phase to ensure students understand the pathophysiology of their simulated patient. She will incorporate resources into simulation and readily share with students and faculty alike. Alison makes recommendations for improvements in simulation and works to make the day/session as engaging as possible.
Alison has had students from 2 or more cohorts or clinical courses in one simulation day and finds a way to incorporate the foundational expectations for each course into that one simulation day and make it all seamless in the implementation. Her students continue to perform above average throughout their clinical experiences. She is a "Rock Star" among the adjunct faculty and a "superuser" in simulations.
