She has been the only nurse in all our hospital experiences who has given me real confidence and comfort that my mom will be actively checked on and receive the attention and care she needs.
My mother had a stroke, so we've been in the hospital for a few days now. I have been staying here with her 24hours a day since she's been here. This is our second stroke event that we have spent at Our Lady of Lourdes. Last year, we were in and out of the hospital here for over a month. Thankfully, we've had Alison as my mom's nighttime nurse every night of our stay this time. She has made such an incredibly positive difference during a time that has been really difficult for all of us, mentally, emotionally, and physically! She has been the only nurse in all our hospital experiences who has given me real confidence and comfort that my mom will be actively checked on and receive the attention and care she needs. This stroke affected her speech, so my mom is not able to communicate what she needs or wants, and it scares me to leave her alone because I'm afraid no one will care to stop and take the time to figure out what she needs. Alison has been an actual saving grace this time; when she's here, I know I don't have to stress, I can actually sleep and not worry about mom being left in the bed and forgotten about. She has celebrated my mom's wins just as much as we have and is constantly checking on her and me. I cannot brag on her enough. This whole situation could have been miserable, terrifying, and stressful, but Alison has been a perfect example of God's love in this place, and the Bible says that perfect love casts out fear. I just want to thank her so much for being our angel during this stay!
